OFFSIDE:
Making HerStory

A sports equity movement

Although our roots are in a book called OFFSIDE, written by women's hockey builder Rhonda Leeman Taylor, our goals go far beyond gender and hockey.

We aim to help break down barriers to create true equity, inclusion and diversity across all sports ~ no matter your gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, background, ability or age. Sports, athletics and reaction are for everyone to enjoy.

So now that Rhonda's told #HerStory, it's time for you to share yours! What's your unique sports story? We'd love to hear from and chat with you. Join the OFFSIDE: MakingHerStory movement today!

OFFSIDE:
#Making HerStory

OFFSIDE: The Book was written by Rhonda Leeman Taylor, and shares her stories of overcoming "challenges faced by women in hockey."

OFFSIDE: The Movement, founded by Rhonda and renowned women's hockey writer Kristen, and is a safe place for other athletes and anyone involved in any sport in any way, to both share their own stories, read the stories of others on our blog, and listen or watch stories on our podcast. OFFSIDE is a sports equity movement meant for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic background, ability or disability. We believe our differences make us stronger and will help us together create true equity, inclusion and diversity in sports, athletics or all. This is our dream.

What's YOUR dream?

Join OFFSIDE: The Movement

OFFSIDE: The Movement is still in its infancy but we've got big plans to make a positive difference not just even in the sports world, but beyond. The life lessons and values we learn in sports, athletics and recreation can be applied to academic settings and careers, so we know that our goal of creating a truly inclusive, equitable and diverse world can and will extend far beyond the rink, court, green or any other field of play. The field of play is life and OFFSIDE aims to create a positive conversation that will lead to true change from the sports arena, to the front lines of any workplace, to boardrooms and far beyond. The time for true equity is now. So, stay tuned for a monthly newsletter and if you have any brilliant ideas you'd like to share with Team OFFSIDE, or are interested in helping us further our goals and values, please email Media@OFFSIDEMakingHerStory.com.

OFFSIDE:
The Book

OFFSIDE: Making HerStory started as a book by Rhonda Leeman Taylor about the evolution of women's hockey history in Canada, and the challenges that she personally faced playing and working in the game she loves. In 2019, Rhonda published OFFSIDE: A Memoir – Challenges Faced By Women In Hockey, to rave reviews from both long-time hockey insiders and women and girls just learning to play the game.
